Return and Refund Policy

Perishable Goods (Cakes, Pastries, Bakery Items)

Due to the perishable nature of our products, Blue Moon Bakehouse does not accept returns or offer refunds on any cakes, pastries, bakery items, dessert boxes, mystery boxes, or other food and drink products once purchased or delivered. All perishable goods are made fresh to order.

Non-Perishable / Retail Products 

For non-perishable retail products (including merchandise, tumblers, coasters, and gift boxes), we will consider returns or exchanges if:

  • The item is expired or subject to a product recall
  • You have proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation)
  • The item is unused, unopened, and in its original packaging

Returns are not accepted for change of mind, damaged packaging (where the product itself is unaffected), or items purchased on sale.

Return Process

You have 7 days from the date of receipt to request a return for eligible non-perishable items. To initiate a return:

  1. Contact us at hello@bluemoonbakehouse.co.nz with your order number and reason for return
  2. Wait for return approval before sending any items back
  3. Ship the item to: Blue Moon Bakehouse, 70 Riccarton Road, Riccarton, Christchurch 8011, New Zealand

Unapproved returns will not be accepted. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty or incorrect.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order upon delivery. If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, contact us immediately at hello@bluemoonbakehouse.co.nz with photos of the issue. We will arrange a replacement or refund at our discretion.

Cancellation Policy

Custom Cakes and Made-to-Order Items: All custom cake orders require a minimum 48-hour lead time. Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled pickup/delivery date will receive a full refund of any deposit paid. Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled date are non-refundable, as production will have already commenced.

Standard Online Orders: Orders for retail (non-perishable) products may be cancelled before dispatch by contacting us at hello@bluemoonbakehouse.co.nz. Once an order has been dispatched, it cannot be cancelled and the return policy above applies.

Refunds

Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 5-10 business days. You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed.
